Commonly Asked Interview Questions and Answers - Prepare to Ace Your Job Interview with the Right Answers to theses Tough Job Interview Common Questions. #jobinterviewquestions #howtoanswertellmeaboutyourself #toughjobinterviewquestions #jobinterviewtips #topjobinterviewquestionsandanswers 1. "Tell Me About Yourself?" This is an open-ended question that the interviewer may ask to get a feel for you are, your communication skills as well as your professional experience. Start with what initially led you to an interest in the area you're applying and/or your educational background. Then give a brief overview summary of your work related experience which should be also found on your resume. Mention the progress and growth as well as any accomplishments you've achieved. Finally briefly mention what leads you to an interest in this opportunity. 2. "What Brings You Here Today?" OR "What Interests You in this Position?" This question is asked because the interviewer would like to understand what interested you in the position and/or company, as well as why you're in the job market seeking a new opportunity. Simply answer with enthusiasm and explain what about the role or the company, attracted you to apply. Also mention why you're looking for another opportunity. Examples may include, you're looking for something closer to home or you're looking for a full time position or you're looking for a job that provides greater room for growth. 3. "What Did You Like and Dislike About Your Previous Job Position?" This is a tricky question because the hiring manager may want to understand if you will like the job with their company. You want to be careful to avoid really negative comments about previous positions. Likes could be your relationship with the people you worked with or the growth that you experienced. Dislikes could be the distance from home or the lack of hours or the fact that there was no real opportunity for growth within the organization. 4. "Describe Your Ideal Manager?" The interviewer would like to understand if you will be happy with the manger you will have in the new opportunity. Start off by mentioning that you've been fortunate enough to have great relationships with your previous managers. An ideal manager is someone who you can feel comfortable to talk to, ask questions and run things by to improve efficiency and effectiveness with your job duties. 5. "Where Do You See Yourself in 5-10 Years from Now?" The interviewer is asking this question to understand if you see yourself with that company or growing professionally. Many candidates get this answer all wrong. You want to avoid saying anything that relates to you personally, such as how many kids you want. Stick to professional topics that keep you growing within the organization or field for which you are applying. 6. "What Sets You Apart From All the Other Applicants?" This may be a tough question because you do not know all the other applicants. The key here is to discuss your value proposition, what is unique about you that will add value to the company or the role? Does the job require great integrity or communication skills? Think about the challenges of the position and the skills you have to overcome them. You also want to mention that you love what you do and you always give 110% of yourself to your work, basically you are reliable and they can count on you. 7. "Do You Have Any Questions for Me?" You always want to be prepared to ask a couple questions (2-3 key questions) because it shows your interest in the position. A few questions you can ask include,' what are some challenges I may face in this role?', 'what's the organizational structure here?' or 'how many people will I be working with?'. Never ask about salary. Finally, you can ask 'what are the next steps?'. Always smile and nod in understanding and mention that it sounds great. 8. "What Are Your Salary Requirements?" This is a tough interview question. You never want to say a specific number. Mention that you are looking for a competitive salary and that you do bring a lot of value to the role and you believe you have a lot to offer, however it is not only salary that goes into your decision so its negotiable. 8 Common Asked Interview Questions and Answers - Prepare to Ace the Job Interview
